CHEF ALVIN

Chef Alvin has an extensive background in authentic Japanese and Chinese cuisine. He has been a chef in New York and Pennsylvania before opening his own restaurant in 2007. Yakitori Boy was the first izakaya restaurant in Philadelphia. Alvin is excited to bring his experience to Taroko. His curation of the menu applies traditional culinary techniques to a unique fusion of Asian ingredients.

Our team of owners collectively bring unique talents to Taroko. Christie and Rosa are sisters that have been a part of the family restaurant business their mother, Vicky, started over 20 years ago after immigrating from Taiwan. Rosa is a licensed nutritionist and PhD in nutrition, bringing a unique perspective on the restaurant menu.

Brent Weaver, previously the Mayor of Redding and owner of Weaver Enterprises is the creator of the interior design and construction. And our fourth partner is Rain, the mastermind behind the operations of the restaurant. Our team is thrilled to bring you a beautiful restaurant, excellent Asian food, and a memorable experience for you and your tastebuds.
